NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Motorists across northeastern Wisconsin should continue to expect delays as multiple Wisconsin Department of Transportation road projects remain active in Shawano, Waupaca and Menominee counties.
In Shawano County, work continues on several major highways. Along WIS 29 between County M and Highline Road, crews are replacing concrete pavement and grinding patches while traffic remains shifted to the inside lanes. Farther east, between County J and County M, outside lanes remain closed as concrete repairs continue. On WIS 22 from County R through Pulcifer, paving operations are underway as part of a larger project extending to the Oconto County line. Drivers traveling between WIS 117 and Shawano should expect single-lane closures, flaggers and pilot-car operations.
In Waupaca County, construction remains active near New London and along two major U.S. highways. WIS 54 through New London continues to operate with one lane of traffic in each direction as crews install new traffic signals, sidewalks, curb and gutter near the County D intersection. On US 45 between County C and Gollnow Road, traffic has been shifted onto the southbound roadway with one lane open in each direction while pavement replacement and guardrail work continue. Meanwhile, crews are repairing concrete pavement on US 10 between Anderson Road and Apple Tree Lane, along with shoulder improvements, guardrail replacement and new pavement markings. Motorists should expect lane shifts, flaggers and possible delays throughout the county.
In Menominee County, a major reconstruction project remains underway on WIS 47 between WIS 55 and the Langlade County line. Crews are replacing culverts, restoring disturbed areas and installing new curb, gutter and guardrail. WIS 47 remains closed to through traffic between County VV and the Langlade County line while culvert replacement work continues. Drivers are being detoured using US 45 and WIS 29, although access remains available for local traffic and emergency responders. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation expects the closure to remain in place until approximately the middle of August.
