Shawano Police responded to a number of calls over the weekend, including an early-morning assault at a downtown business.
Police were called to Sharona’s Bar shortly after midnight Sunday for a reported assault. Officers and Shawano Ambulance responded, with the initial report indicating the victim may have suffered a broken nose.
Officers also conducted a welfare check at Shawano Lake County Park early Sunday morning.
Throughout the late morning and early afternoon, police conducted a series of traffic stops, including several along East Green Bay Street and at nearby intersections.
Later in the afternoon, officers responded to Lakeshore Lanes for a report of an intoxicated person who was reportedly staggering and attempting to flag down passing vehicles.
Police and ambulance personnel also responded to a medical call on South Main Street.
Sunday evening brought a reported hit-and-run involving a vehicle in a hospital parking lot, with damage reported to the front end.
Officers later responded to a trespassing complaint on South Union Street and a juvenile alcohol complaint at Lakeshore Lanes.
The department also handled additional medical and welfare-related calls during the overnight hours.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls Sunday, including a disorderly conduct complaint early in the morning on Sixth Street.
Officers also conducted a welfare check on South Main Street, while an extra patrol was reported on North Main Street.
Around midday, police responded to a civil complaint on Wilson Street.
Several traffic stops were made throughout the afternoon and evening, including stops on North Main Street, South Main Street, and near Highway 156 and McKinley Avenue.
Police also provided mutual aid on East Main Street Sunday evening.
Later, officers responded to a lockout complaint on East Morning Glory Drive.
Just before 10 p.m., police were called to Seventh Street for a report of a suspicious person.
The department also conducted extra patrols on Memorial Circle later in the evening.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department handled a busy Sunday, with calls ranging from an OWI and reckless driving complaints to traffic hazards, welfare checks, and several 911 calls.
Early Sunday morning, deputies responded to a reported OWI near East Green Bay Street and Waukechon Street. Earlier, a reckless driving complaint had been reported near Lake Drive and Mork Road.
Deputies also investigated two reports of a person failing to report to the Shawano County Jail. Both incidents were recorded shortly after one in the morning.
Throughout the day, deputies made numerous traffic stops across the county. Officers also responded to several traffic hazards, including a report of hay bales in the roadway near Green Valley Road and Deer Drive, and large wooden beams reported in the road near Highway 29.
Two separate deer-related crashes were reported Sunday. One occurred on Highway 45 near Lone Maple Road, while another was reported near Highway 45 and Gollnow Road. In the second crash, the vehicle was reportedly disabled.
Deputies also handled several welfare checks and abandoned 911 calls.
Sunday evening brought a trespassing complaint on Labutzke Drive, where two males on bicycles were reportedly seen approaching a residence.
The Sheriff’s Department also assisted another law enforcement agency, handled a warrant pickup, and responded to a boat-related complaint on Shawano Lake.
