Shawano Police were kept busy throughout Thursday, responding to a wide variety of calls across the city. Among the day’s more significant incidents, officers investigated the reported theft of tools from a home on East Randall Street after a resident said three people who had been staying there left and the tools were discovered missing. Police also looked into a report of a stolen vehicle after a woman reported her car missing while she was incarcerated.
Officers also responded to a shoplifting complaint at Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street, where a suspect was reportedly captured on surveillance video stealing food. Later in the evening, multiple officers were called to a disturbance on South Andrews Street after reports that several men were fighting while children were nearby.
Other calls included welfare checks, harassment complaints, traffic hazards, disorderly conduct, several 911 calls, and numerous traffic stops throughout the city. Shawano Police also assisted neighboring law enforcement agencies during the day.
Clintonville Police logged a steady stream of calls Wednesday, with most activity centered around routine business checks and several minor incidents throughout the day. Officers conducted multiple overnight business checks along Beacon Avenue, Commercial Avenue, and South Main Street, ensuring storefronts were secure. Around 4:30 a.m., police responded to an open door on South Main, followed shortly by an alarm call on 11th Street. A noise complaint on Main Street came in just before dawn.
Morning activity included a business assist on South Main and a 911 call from Memorial Circle. Officers handled a trespassing complaint on West Madison, a suspicious person report on East 12th Street, and an ambulance call on 15th Street.
A welfare check was performed on Industrial Avenue late in the morning, followed by a reported theft on North 12th Street. Disorderly conduct on South Main and an agency assist on Stewart Street kept officers busy early afternoon.
Later in the day, police responded to an ordinance violation on Main Street and multiple suspicious activity calls on Industrial Avenue and South Main. The department wrapped up the evening with extra patrols around Memorial Circle.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled 60 calls Wednesday, ranging from traffic stops and welfare checks to several thefts and crashes across the county. Deputies began the early morning with a traffic stop on Lake Drive, followed by a crash on Highway 22 where a driver struck a loose horse in the roadway. A welfare check on Meadow Lark Road in Wittenb erg came after a caller feared her ex‑partner was driving past the home, though deputies found no vehicles in the area. Another 911 call around 6 a.m. turned out to be a loose horse that was safely returned home.
Throughout the morning, deputies responded to multiple welfare checks, including one on Highway 45 in Wittenberg and another on Frontage Road in Shawano. A crash with injuries was reported on County Road CC, where a vehicle ended up in a cornfield. Around 8:45 a.m., deputies assisted an ambulance crew after a grandmother reported she couldn’t get up and believed she had broken her ankle.
A sexual assault report came in just before 9 a.m., followed by several crashes and an animal complaint on Highway 29. Late morning also brought a burglary call on Strauss Road, where construction equipment was stolen from a job site and a lock was cut on a trailer.
Around midday, deputies investigated an attempted vehicle theft in which a suspect tried stealing multiple items and vehicles before taking one from a sales lot and abandoning it down the road. They also handled harassment, littering, an ATV complaint involving a child popping wheelies in the roadway, and a trespassing report where a woman repeatedly entered private property.
The afternoon included a child abuse report, a pickup for probation and parole, and several 911 calls—many accidental or involving fall‑detection alerts. Deputies also responded to disorderly conduct at North Star Casino, where a terminated employee refused to leave the property.
Evening calls included multiple welfare checks, animal complaints, illegal burning, fireworks, noise disturbances, and several traffic stops. One drug‑related incident was reported near Highway 29 and Cecil Street.
