Geraldine Laverne (Nass) (Mech) Middleton

Geraldine L. Middleton (formerly Geraldine Mech), age 101 of Clintonville entered eternal rest with her Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Aster Assisted Living in Clintonville.

Geraldine Laverne Nass was born on February 7, 1925 in Clintonville as the daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Schertz) Nass. She graduated from Clintonville High School and was united in marriage to Ray Mech on January 12, 1946 in Clintonville. The couple resided in Clintonville where they became members of the United Methodist Church. The couple were loving and supportive parents to 4 daughters. Ray preceded Geraldine in death in 1981; a day after Geraldine lost her mother. Geraldine put a lot of energy into the United Methodist Church where she loved using her baking skills for church functions and served with the United Methodist Women and on the Candlelight Circle; serving both in leadership positions. Geraldine then was united in marriage to Charles Middleton on June 12, 1982 in Clintonville. The couple spent many wonderful years together prior to Charles’ passing in 1998. Geraldine made friends easily and took her card playing seriously. She made a point to give the mail delivery person a piece of candy each day while she was living at CAP Olen Park Apartments. Geraldine was able to live on her own until just a few months ago and kept her sense of humor until the very end.

Survivors include: Her Daughters: Barbara (Robert) Stichman, Donna (Michael) Kujawski, Judith Heidke, and Janice (Alan) Jenkins.
Step-Children: Carolyn Michaletz, Elizabeth (James) Wearing, and James (Judy) Middleton.
9 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, a Great-Great-Grandchild with 2 more on the way, and numerous step-grandchildren.
Also numerous nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Anna Nass, her husband Ray Mech in 1981 and her second husband Charles Middleton in 1998, a son-in-law James Heidke, step-children Barbara (Chuck) Beaulieu and Wayne Michaletz, sisters Viola Seeger, Lorene Laatsch, Carol Schardt, and Bernadine Knaack, and brothers Larry and Vilas Nass.

Geraldine’s funeral service will be held Friday, August 14, 2026 at 11am at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville with Rev. Diana Ziegler officiating. A meal will follow the service in the church fellowship hall and interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville following the meal. Visitation will be held at the church from 10am on Friday, August 14, 2026 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church.
