NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Residents in the Shawano and Gresham areas will have an opportunity to safely dispose of confidential documents while supporting local food pantries during AbbyBank’s annual Community Shred Day on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The free event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at participating AbbyBank branches, including the Shawano and Gresham locations.
Community members can bring up to two copy-paper-sized boxes of personal or confidential documents to be securely shredded at no cost.
Before arriving, participants are asked to remove binder clips, rubber bands, plastic, metal fasteners and hanging file folders from the documents being dropped off.
In addition to protecting personal information through secure document destruction, AbbyBank is encouraging participants to bring non-perishable food items or hygiene products to benefit local food pantries and families in need.
Bank officials say the event offers residents a convenient way to safely dispose of sensitive paperwork while also giving back to the community through donations that will support local hunger relief efforts.
