Shiocton is expected to be one of the top contenders in the Northwoods Conference this fall, with Bound Wisconsin projecting the Chiefs to finish fourth in its 2026 preseason football preview.
The Chiefs return several of their top playmakers from last season after qualifying for the WIAA playoffs despite finishing the regular season with just two victories.
Shiocton’s season turned around in the final week of 2025 when a win over Northland Pines secured a postseason berth. Although the Chiefs were eliminated by Lourdes Academy in the opening round of the playoffs, Bound Wisconsin believes the experience gained by last year’s returning players could pay dividends this fall.
Leading the way is Wyoming football commit Brett Singler, who was named one of the conference’s top five players to watch entering the season.
Singler earned First Team All-Northwoods Conference honors on both offense and defense after catching 46 passes for 535 yards and seven touchdowns while recording 67 tackles during his junior campaign.
The Chiefs also return starting quarterback Kyle Bergsbaken and leading receiver Wyatt Hess, giving Shiocton an experienced offensive core heading into the new season.
