Thunder Picked 3rd In Bay Pre-Season Poll

The Bay Conference once again figures to be one of the state’s most competitive leagues in 2026 after producing the Division 4 state champion a season ago. Defending champion Winneconne enters as the favorite, with Fox Valley Lutheran and Seymour expected to battle near the top of the standings.

After finishing second in the Bay Conference in 2025, Seymour enters a new era under first-year head coach Jeff Marsh. The Thunder opened last season with a non-conference loss to Luxemburg-Casco before responding with seven straight victories, setting up a winner-take-all conference championship showdown against eventual state champion Winneconne in Week 9. Seymour came up short in that contest and later saw its season end with a Level 1 playoff loss at Altoona, finishing another strong campaign just shy of its ultimate goals.

Replacing longtime head coach Jason Bins, Marsh inherits a team that looks much different from last year’s squad. Seymour returns just one starter on offense and one on defense, meaning a large group of new contributors will be counted on to step into key roles.

Projected Order of Finish:

  1. Winneconne
  2. Fox Valley Lutheran
  3. Seymour
  4. Waupaca
  5. Xavier
  6. Shawano
  7. New London
