New London, Little Falls Stay Hot as BABA Week 11 Wraps Up


NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Week 11 of the BABA season featured several lopsided victories, standout offensive performances and key wins as teams continue their push toward the postseason.

 

New London 12, Clintonville 2 (7 inn)

New London rolled to a 12-2, seven-inning victory over Clintonville on Sunday behind a dominant performance from pitcher Mike Helsten, who allowed just one hit while striking out five over five innings.

At the plate, the Irish were led by Colby Schmude, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBIs. Tyler Gerrits also drove in three runs with two hits, while Noah Hanson collected a pair of doubles. Ethan Hertzfeldt and Ethan Bergen each added two-hit performances in the win.

For Clintonville, Crew Weisnicht hit a pair of doubles, while Lukas Pecore finished with two hits.

Little Falls 15, Caroline 2 (7 inn)
Little Falls also continued its strong play with a 15-2, seven-inning win over Caroline. Pitcher Kyle Finger tossed six scoreless innings, striking out seven while allowing six hits.

Finger also contributed offensively with two hits, while Parker Gullixon led the attack by going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a home run. Carter Melum added two hits for Little Falls. Caroline was paced by Klay Barkow, who finished 2-for-5 with a double, and Mike Weatherwax, who added two hits.

Weymont 10, Shawano 0 (7 inn)
In another area matchup, Weymont blanked Shawano 10-0 in seven innings. Luke Schwenn earned the win on the mound and also contributed at the plate, while Kolden Baehman drove in two runs. Shawano’s offense was limited to three hits from Ryan Pensis, Mike Korth, and Nathan Montez.

Scandinavia 12, Tilleda 2 (7 inn)
Scandinavia defeated Tilleda 12-2 in seven innings behind a complete-game effort from Mike Gladowski, who struck out seven. Brandon Hunkins and Logan Moe each homered to power the Scandinavia offense.

Plover 13, Leopolis 1 (8 inn)
Plover cruised past Leopolis 13-1 in eight innings. Kevin Jastromski drove in four runs, while Zach Houston added three RBIs. Leopolis was led by Ryan Malueg, who collected three hits.

Wittenberg 15, Tigerton 14
On Friday night, Wittenberg outlasted Tigerton 15-14 in one of the week’s highest-scoring contests. Eric Steigerwald, Dalton Zeinert, and Nathan Waupekenay each had big offensive nights for Wittenberg. Tigerton answered with home runs from Paul Sellner and Izaiah Hidde, but came up one run short.

Gresham 14, Marion 9
Also Friday, Gresham defeated Marion 14-9 as Nate Ejnik and Mike Pecore each recorded four-hit games to lead the offense.

Other Week 11 results included:

  • Hatley defeated Crandon 12-5.
  • Antigo Polar outslugged Aniwa 25-13 in a game featuring 39 combined runs and 39 hits. Brady Renfro homered twice, while AJ Kirsch added a grand slam for Antigo Polar. Aniwa’s Wade Farmer hit two home runs in the loss.
  • Birnamwood topped Eland 7-3 behind another strong outing from Mason Meverden.
  • Menominee forfeited to Gresham, resulting in a 9-0 victory for Gresham.
