NEW LONDON, WI- A Disaster Recovery Center is opening Monday in New London to help residents and businesses impacted by recent flooding.
Waupaca County Emergency Management, along with Outagamie and Winnebago County Emergency Management, Wisconsin Emergency Management and FEMA, announced the center will open July 20th at the New London Public Museum on South Pearl Street.
The center will provide one-on-one assistance from recovery specialists who can help people complete FEMA applications, answer questions about disaster assistance, provide application updates, and explain eligibility requirements.
Officials are encouraging residents and businesses to apply for FEMA assistance online before visiting the center, if they are able. Applications can be started at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app, or by calling the FEMA helpline at 1-800-621-3362.
Those visiting the recovery center should bring any available documents, including identification, insurance information, photos of damage, repair estimates or receipts, and banking information for direct deposit.
The Disaster Recovery Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New London Public Museum.
