SHAWANO, WI- Poor air quality from wildfire smoke has forced the cancellation of this week’s Thursdayz at Franklin concert in Shawano.
Shawano Park and Recreation announced that Thursday night’s performance by Wish You Were Floyd, a Pink Floyd tribute band, has been canceled due to the smoky conditions affecting the area.
The concert had been scheduled for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Franklin Park.
Organizers say the band will return as part of the Thursdayz at Franklin concert series in August 2027.
The cancellation comes as an Air Quality Advisory remains in effect across Wisconsin, with smoke from wildfires in Ontario and northern Minnesota creating unhealthy conditions throughout the state. Officials have urged residents to limit outdoor activity as air quality levels may reach the “Very Unhealthy” category in some areas.
