Clintonville Police stayed busy Tuesday, responding to a variety of calls throughout the city.
Officers began the day investigating a suspicious vehicle on South Main Street and conducting routine business checks, traffic enforcement, and extra patrols. Police also handled reports involving a stray animal on 19th Street, an animal complaint on Robert Street, and assisted a local business on South Main.
During the afternoon, officers responded to a welfare check, a reported fraud case, a citizen assist, and multiple traffic-related incidents, including stops on South Main Street and Hemlock Street.
As the evening continued, police answered a 911 call on Spring Street and investigated reports of theft, harassment, child abuse, excessive noise, and a mental health incident before the end of the day.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 83 incidents across the county on Tuesday, keeping deputies busy with everything from traffic enforcement to emergency calls and criminal investigations.
The day began with a warrant pickup, welfare checks, deer-related crashes, suspicious activity, and a commercial alarm. Deputies also handled numerous 911 calls throughout the day, several of which turned out to be accidental or open-line calls, while others required deputies to investigate potential emergencies.
Traffic enforcement remained a major focus, with dozens of traffic stops conducted across the county in communities including Bonduel, Birnamwood, Cecil, Shawano, Marion, and Pulaski. Deputies also responded to reports of reckless driving, disabled vehicles, and traffic hazards, including a downed tree and roadway congestion caused by motorists making illegal U-turns.
Other calls included reports of vandalism in Wittenberg, a counterfeit $20 bill passed at a Bonduel business, a property theft, suspicious vehicles, animal complaints involving loose horses and neglected livestock, welfare checks, disorderly conduct, and several crashes, including multiple deer collisions.
Deputies also assisted other law enforcement agencies, provided courthouse security, responded to jail-related incidents, and investigated family and civil matters.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department also reported assisting another law enforcement agency during an attempted traffic stop Tuesday morning.
Shawano Police responded to a wide range of calls Tuesday, including traffic incidents, welfare checks, and emergency assistance throughout the city.
The day began with officers investigating suspicious activity after vehicle alarms sounded on South Lafayette Street. Later in the morning, police handled a vehicle-versus-deer incident on East Green Bay Street, where an injured deer was reported in a ditch, and assisted with a disabled vehicle blocking traffic near the Main Street bridge.
Officers also conducted multiple welfare checks, responded to several accidental and abandoned 911 calls, and assisted an elderly resident after a fall. A two-vehicle property damage crash was reported on Olson Street with no injuries.
During the evening, firefighters and police responded to a smoke alarm at Shawano Place before crews were dispatched to a semi-truck fire at Reinhart Foods on County Road B. No injuries were reported in either incident. Officers also investigated additional suspicious activity, assisted another law enforcement agency, and answered a late-night 911 call at Walmart.
