HORTONVILLE, WI – Former Hortonville High School standout Thomas Burns is headed to professional baseball after being selected by the Minnesota Twins in the eighth round of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft.
The Twins chose Burns with the 227th overall pick, adding the right-handed pitcher to their organization after an impressive collegiate career at the University of Texas.
Burns entered the draft ranked as the No. 221 overall prospect on MLB’s Top 250 Draft Prospects list, making him one of the top remaining players available when Minnesota made its selection.
