BABA Roundup Week 10


Week 10 of the Badger Amateur Baseball Association season delivered a full slate of impressive pitching performances, offensive explosions, and a walk-off finish as teams continue battling for postseason positioning.

FRIDAY JULY 10

Wittenberg Downs Menominee
Wittenberg 9, Menominee 3

The Wittenberg Pilots opened the weekend Friday with a 9-3 victory over the Menominee Indians.
Nathan Waupekenay earned the win while helping his own cause at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run. Pierson Potrykus and Keegan Schmid each collected two hits, while Zach Urquhart added a double.
Menominee’s offense was limited to four singles from Austin Peters, Donald Waukechon, George Bruette, and Mitchell VandeWalle.

 

Tigerton Cruises Past Shawano
Tigerton 12, Shawano 2

The Tigerton Tigers rolled to a 12-2 seven-inning victory over the Shawano Lakers on Friday. Caleb Dahlstrom picked up the win on the mound as Tigerton’s offense broke the game open early.

SUNDAY JULY 12

Gresham Handles Leopolis
Gresham 13, Leopolis 6

The Gresham Gophers earned a 13-6 win over the Leopolis Bulldogs.
Nate Ejnik highlighted the offense with three hits, including a double and triple, while Mequon Frechette went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple. Tom Nietzer homered and Crew Weisnicht also collected three hits.
Leopolis was led by Jackson Krohn’s three-hit day, while Jaden Stuhr added two hits and a double.

 

Tilleda Dominates Marion
Tilleda 14, Marion 2

The Tilleda Woodchucks defeated the Marion Meisters 14-2 in seven innings behind a dominant outing from Zach Fehrman.
Fehrman struck out 11 batters while allowing just three hits over seven innings.
Stephen Reinke finished a perfect 4-for-4, Jay Brei drove in three runs, and Braylon Mielke added three RBIs. Adin Brei collected two hits as part of Tilleda’s balanced offensive attack.
Nick Schoen doubled for Marion, while Mitch Elandt and Hudson Miller also recorded hits.

Shawano Bounces Back
Shawano 13, Menominee 8

The Lakers responded Sunday with a 13-8 victory over the Menominee Indians.
Player-manager Kris Krause led Shawano by going 3-for-4 with a double, while Leland Jones added three hits and Tate Zhuckkahosee chipped in two hits, including a double. Rob Zhuckkahosee and Riley Dixon each contributed two-hit performances.
George Bruette paced Menominee by going 4-for-5 with two doubles, while Mitchell VandeWalle added three hits and Ashton Corn finished with two.

 

Scandinavia Walks Off Little Falls
Scandinavia 2, Little Falls 1

One of the weekend’s most exciting games came Sunday as the Scandinavia Vikings edged the Little Falls Loggers 2-1 in 10 innings.
Brycen Cashin delivered the game-winning moment with a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning after already collecting a double earlier in the contest.

Northern Division

Antigo Polar Defeats Birnamwood
Antigo 14, Birnamwood 4

The Antigo Polar defeated Birnamwood 14-4 on Friday.
Brady Renfro powered Antigo’s offense with a grand slam as part of a four-hit night. Carson Meverden hit a home run for Birnamwood, while Logan Thiex added two hits and a double.

 

Hatley Outlasts Aniwa
Hatley 10, Aniwa 6

On Sunday, Hatley defeated Aniwa 10-6 behind a 17-hit offensive performance.
Braxton Olson and Nick Cotter each collected three hits, while Kodie Kocher also added three hits for Hatley.
Aniwa was led by Gavin Steppart, who finished 3-for-5 with two doubles, while Wade Farmer added a home run.

South/Central Division

New London Sweeps Weymont
New London 10, Weymont 0
New London 10, Weymont 0

New London completed a dominant doubleheader sweep over Weymont, winning both games 10-0 in five innings.
Connor Brinkman earned the Game 1 victory as Tyler Gerrits and Ethan Hertzfeldt led the offense.

In Game 2, Mike Helston tossed the shutout while Gerrits and Hertzfeldt once again paced New London’s lineup.

 

 

With just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, teams across the BABA continue jockeying for playoff position as the race toward the postseason heats up.
