Clintonville Police stayed busy Thursday, responding to a variety of calls throughout the community.
Officers began the day by securing an open door on North Park Street before conducting overnight business checks at locations across the city. Additional patrols were also made on North Main Street and Memorial Circle to help deter crime and maintain a visible police presence.
Emergency responders handled several ambulance calls during the day on Spring Street, Anne Street, Ginger Trace and South Main Street. Police also responded to a welfare check on Park Lane, a domestic disturbance on Ninth Street, and investigated a reported fraud complaint on McKinley Avenue.
Authorities were also called to Robert Street for a death investigation. No additional information has been released.
Animal-related calls kept officers busy as well, with reports of an animal bite and later a stray animal, both on McKinley Avenue.
The day’s activity concluded with a traffic stop at East 14th and North Main streets late Thursday night.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled 76 incidents across the county on Thursday, keeping deputies busy with crashes, emergency calls, traffic enforcement, and public safety responses.
The day began before sunrise with several 911 calls, including one from the North Star Casino area and another in Mattoon. Deputies also responded to a property-damage crash involving a tanker truck in the median along Highway 29 near mile marker 214. No serious injuries were reported.
Throughout the day, deputies assisted area fire departments, performed a lift assist for a resident, investigated suspicious activity near Shawano and Wittenberg, and responded to an injured juvenile bald eagle reported near Airport Drive. Officers also handled disabled vehicles, a vehicle lockout involving a pet trapped inside, and a custodial interference complaint near Clintonville.
Traffic enforcement remained a major focus, with more than 30 traffic stops conducted across Shawano County. Deputies also investigated reports of reckless driving, a disturbance, welfare checks, warrant arrests, and several requests for assistance from other law enforcement agencies and medical facilities.
Late Thursday evening, deputies responded to a juvenile runaway report in Tigerton, another 911 call at ThedaCare Medical Center, and a vehicle lockout before midnight.
Separately, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department handled two incidents Thursday, including a welfare check involving a missing person report and a drug investigation at the North Star Casino Hotel.
Shawano Police stayed busy throughout Thursday, responding to a wide range of calls across the city. Early in the day, officers assisted motorists with vehicle lockouts, handled a medical call, and responded to a civil dispute involving property ownership.
Officers also investigated a report of suspicious activity at an apartment complex, answered a commercial fire alarm at Shawano Place, and took a theft report from the city’s east side. Later in the afternoon, police responded to a vandalism complaint involving damage to a vehicle and recovered a wallet found near the railroad tracks before returning it to its owner.
The evening brought numerous traffic stops in the Cecil area, along with a drug-related investigation. Officers also responded to reports of disorderly conduct and several calls at ThedaCare Medical Center, as well as complaints of fireworks at Kuckuk Park. Overnight, police handled a traffic hazard, assisted a resident after a fall, and responded to another disorderly conduct complaint.
