Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls throughout Tuesday, July 7th. Officers investigated a suspicious complaint on Hughes Street shortly after midnight and conducted extra patrols at Pickerel Point Playground, North Main Street, and Memorial Circle. Police also made several traffic stops throughout the day and carried out radar enforcement near 7th and North Lyons Streets.
Emergency crews responded to ambulance calls on Anne Street, West Green Tree Road, and South Main Street. Officers also handled multiple 911 calls on West Green Tree Road and Waupaca Street, along with an alarm on South Main Street.
Other activity included assisting another agency on Industrial Avenue and South Main Street, serving a warrant on South Main Street, helping citizens at several locations, responding to a stray animal report, investigating a traffic complaint near Highway 156, taking a lost-and-found report on West Madison Street, and responding to a motor vehicle crash on North Main Street. Police also conducted a foot patrol at Bucholtz Park during the evening.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled 57 incidents across the county Tuesday, with deputies responding to a wide range of calls including fraud, crashes, traffic enforcement, and animal complaints.
One of the day’s most significant reports involved a Marion-area resident who told deputies someone fraudulently used a Capital One credit card to make approximately $76,000 in cash advances and online purchases in Virginia. The investigation remains ongoing.
Traffic enforcement kept deputies busy throughout the day, with numerous traffic stops across the county. Deputies also responded to reports of reckless driving on Highway 47-55 and a traffic violation involving a vehicle reportedly traveling 70 miles per hour on Cheese Factory Road near Cecil.
An Amazon delivery driver also backed into a building on County Highway MMM near Shawano Tuesday afternoon, causing property damage. No injuries were reported.
Other calls included a burglary alarm at the Krakow Citgo, a suspicious vehicle near Marion, welfare checks, a report of a dog bite in Pulaski, and a stray kitten that bit a person in the Cecil area. Deputies also assisted Pulaski Police with a verbal disturbance, served a warrant at the Shawano County Jail, and provided medical assistance in Tigerton late Tuesday evening.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department also responded to two calls Tuesday, including a disturbance and a 911 open-line call that was transferred from Menominee County.
