Shawano Police responded to a variety of calls throughout the city Thursday, keeping officers busy from the early morning hours into the evening.
Among the day’s incidents were disturbances at the Haven Hotel and a Riverside Drive neighborhood, along with reports of disorderly conduct, trespassing, and several welfare checks. Officers also handled a traffic hazard involving a semi on South Airport Drive, determined to be backing into a business rather than disabled.
Police responded to multiple animal-related calls, including reports of a loose dog and concerns about a dog left in a parked vehicle at Walmart. Other calls included a vehicle lockout, property damage, a juvenile complaint involving e-bikes on the Mountain Bay Trail, and a door-to-door solicitor reported on Humphrey Circle.
As Independence Day celebrations approach, officers also responded to a late-night fireworks complaint on Evergreen Street. Shawano Police remind residents to celebrate safely and report emergencies by calling 911, while non-emergency concerns should be directed to the department’s non-emergency number.
Clintonville Police stayed busy throughout Thursday, July 2nd, responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
The day began with extra patrols on Memorial Circle, followed by reports of suspicious activity on Hemlock Street and routine business checks. Officers also responded to a utility problem, a fraud complaint on Summer Street, a medical call on Ginger Trace, and a report of a missing person on North Clinton Avenue.
Traffic enforcement remained a priority, with numerous traffic stops conducted throughout the day at locations including West Madison Street, South Main Street, 7th Street, and Waupaca Street. Police also handled a 911 call, an animal complaint, a vehicle lockout, a drug-related investigation on Lincoln Avenue, a noise complaint, and another report of suspicious activity on Olen Park Road.
As the Fourth of July weekend approaches, officers responded to two fireworks complaints Thursday evening, one near Shaw Street and Auto Street and another on 5th Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide variety of calls across the county on Thursday, July 2nd, keeping deputies busy from the overnight hours through the evening.
Among the more serious incidents, deputies investigated an alleged OWI after a vehicle was found in a ditch near Highway 47 and Shady Road in the Bonduel area. The caller reported the driver was stumbling and slurring their speech. That investigation remains active.
Deputies also responded to a property-damage crash near Highway 22 west of Shawano, as well as an injury crash on Highway 45 near Langlade later in the evening. Several reports of reckless driving were received throughout the day in Birnamwood, Eland, Bonduel, and Bowler.
Other calls included multiple 911 hang-up and open-line calls, welfare checks in Tigerton and the Wittenberg area, a request for assistance from probation and parole officers, a disabled vehicle, and several traffic hazards. Crews responded to a tree blocking a roadway, a sinkhole on Hunting Road, a tree contacting power lines near Birnamwood, and even loose cattle that wandered onto Porter Road before being safely returned to their pasture.
As the Independence Day holiday approaches, deputies also investigated fireworks complaints in Wittenberg and the Bonduel area Thursday night.
