Clintonville Police kept busy Yesterday, responding to a variety of calls across the city.
Officers investigated a reported theft on West Morning Glory Drive during the late morning and responded to a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Old Highway 45 and County Highway D just after noon.
Police also handled several welfare checks on Stewart Street, 7th Street, and South Main Street, along with citizen assist calls on West Street and Stewart Street. Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle on North Main Street, suspicious activity on Robert Street, and a threatening complaint on Flora Way.
Additional calls included a disabled vehicle at North Main and West 14th Streets, a vehicle lockout on South Main Street, a stray animal complaint on Brix Street, and assistance to another agency on Bennett Street. Officers also responded to two 911 calls during the day.
Clintonville Police maintained a visible presence with extra patrols on North Main Street and Memorial Circle, conducted a foot patrol in the Memorial Circle area, and made late-evening traffic stops on 20th Street at North Main and on South Main Street.
Shawano County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 45 incidents across the county Tuesday, handling everything from reckless driving complaints to theft investigations and multiple 911 calls.
Deputies investigated several reports of reckless drivers throughout the day, including incidents along Highway 29, Highway 45, and County Highway A. Motorists also encountered traffic hazards, including debris on Highway 29 near Highway 45 and downed power lines blocking Town Line Road after a tree fell onto a utility pole.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to numerous emergency calls from communities including Tigerton, Gresham, Pulaski, Shawano, and the surrounding towns. Deputies also conducted several welfare checks, assisted with civil matters, domestic and disturbance complaints, and provided standby assistance for other agencies and Human Services.
Theft investigations kept deputies busy as well. Reports included stolen firewood from a business property near Bonduel, an identity theft complaint filed at the Sheriff’s Office, and another theft investigation on Deering Road.
Other calls included reports of a scam, an injured fawn, a dog left in a parked vehicle, a vehicle lockout, a deer-related crash, and assistance to another law enforcement agency following a hit-and-run investigation in the City of Shawano.
The Sheriff’s Office also increased patrols in areas where residents reported speeding concerns, continuing efforts to promote traffic safety throughout Shawano County.
Shawano Police were busy Yesterday with a series of calls across the city. Officers handled multiple overnight traffic stops, including one on East Green Bay Street where a driver was pulled over for no headlights.
Later in the morning, police responded to Walmart, where a woman reported her purse had been stolen and later recovered — but a black pouch inside was emptied and all her cards were missing.
A separate theft report came from Lebakkens Rent‑to‑Own, where a laptop and other rented items were not returned by the due date, prompting a formal complaint.
Officers also dealt with harassment cases, including one involving repeated late‑night internet calls from a known individual, and another at an apartment complex involving a dispute over a dog.
In the evening, police were called to Kwik Trip for a report of a blue Subaru speeding off, with the caller believing the driver appeared impaired.
And just before midnight, officers investigated a hit‑and‑run on South Evergreen Street, where a grey four‑door car struck a parked vehicle and fled, leaving a trail of fluid and a dragging front bumper.
