BEAVER DAM, WI – Both Hortonville and Clintonville wrapped up the 1st annual Bound Wisconsin Summer Shootout. Results are below.
Hortonville Posts Strong 2-1 Showing at Boys Bound Wisconsin Summer Shootout
Hortonville turned in a solid performance at the inaugural Boys Bound Wisconsin Summer Shootout, finishing 2-1 to tie for first place in Pool C.
The Polar Bears opened the day with an impressive 55-50 victory over Brown Deer behind 15 points from Griffin Heckert. Hortonville then ran into a tough Marshall squad, falling 65-55 despite balanced scoring from Jaden Van Handel and Spencer Lund, who each finished with 10 points. Hortonville bounced back in its final game, cruising to a 68-38 win over Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau as freshman Blake Przbylski led the way with 12 points.
Clintonville Battles Despite 0-3 Finish at Summer Shootout
Clintonville finished 0-3 in Pool H at the Boys Bound Wisconsin Summer Shootout, but the Truckers were competitive throughout the day and showed encouraging signs against strong competition.
Clintonville’s closest game came in a 51-47 overtime loss to Boscobel, with Ray DeJesus leading the offense with 16 points. Earlier in the day, DeJesus also scored 13 points in a hard-fought 48-40 loss to eventual pool champion Dodgeland. The Truckers wrapped up the tournament with a 36-29 loss to Albany/Monticello, where freshman Casen Mauel scored seven points.
