Jean E. Moesch, age 92 of Green Bay, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay. Jean was born on May 25, 1934, in Shawano, a daughter of the late David and Aurelia (Moede) Beversdorf. She attended the Beversdorf School in the Town of Belle Plaine until the school closed. Jean then attended school in Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School with the Class of 1952. During high school, she worked for her brother-in-law, Bob Echtner, at his root beer stand. Jean later enrolled in the Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee and completed her courses in secretarial school administration, graduating in the top ten percent of her class. Following graduation, she accepted a full-
time position with Elliott Addressing Machine Company in Milwaukee.
On June 1, 1957, Jean was united in marriage to Donald J. Moesch at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple moved to Platteville where Don continued his education before returning to Shawano. In 1962, they relocated to Green Bay where Jean raised their children. Don passed away suddenly on July 7, 1987, at the age of 54. Jean managed the Fannie Farmer candy store in Green Bay, a job she enjoyed and where she made numerous friends. On January 26, 1991, Jean married her childhood friend, Ray W. Klebesadel, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived in Green Bay, and Jean officially retired in 1997. Jean was a woman of great faith. She is a charter member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church where she taught Bible school and attended Bible study on a regular basis. Jean was a true pioneer woman. She enjoyed growing produce, canning, baking bread, having coffee with friends, and hosting family events where she cooked for everyone. Jean also enjoyed traveling with her husband and children and was wonderfully comfortable cutting the grass in her blue jeans.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Klebesadel, of Green Bay; her children, Jody (Mike) Moesch Ebeling of Green Bay, Laurie (John) Lana of Harley, GA, LeeAnn (Dan) Cropsey of Fox River Grove, IL, and David (Sarah) Moesch of Shawano; her step-children, William (Karen Lee) Klebesadel, Lawerence Klebesadel, RayeAnn (Richie) Spangler, and James Klebesadel, all of New Mexico; her grandchildren, Luke (Jalen) Lana, Lauren (Tom) Hazenfield, James (Anna) Lana, Joel Cropsey, Owen Moesch, Adison Moesch, Christina (Jon) Bacca, Amanda (Tom) Dollahite, Lauren (Copeland) Neeley Lindy (Erik) Parker, Jesse Klebesadel, and Jonathon Klebesadel; and many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Gail Moesch of Shawano, and Marilyn Kort of Rice Lake; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Moesch; and her sisters, Dorothy Kroenke, Phyllis Echtner, Delores Bain, and Marilyn Beversdorf.
A memorial service for Jean will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:30 am at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Reverend Dr. Michael Hanson, Pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10:00 am and continue until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests memorials in Jean’s name to establish a memorial fund.
