SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano County Historical Society is preparing to welcome visitors back to Heritage Park this Saturday as Rhubarb Fest returns for its 18th year.
The annual event will feature a full day of entertainment, history, and hands-on activities, with several new additions planned for 2026.
Priscilla King of the Shawano County Historical Society says one of the highlights this year will be a live performance, along with expanded access to Heritage Park’s historic buildings.
“One of the biggest changes this year is that every building at Heritage Park will be open,” King said. “That gives visitors more opportunities than ever to view historic structures and learn about the area’s past.”
Organizers are also introducing several new demonstrations designed to showcase traditional skills and crafts from earlier generations.
Among those demonstrations will be a Victorian lampshade presentation by Linda Salzman, which will take place inside the park’s Cass House.
“Salzman with Victorian lampshades. She will be in our Cass House,” King said.
In addition to the Victorian lampshade display, visitors will be able to watch rag doll making and other traditional heritage demonstrations throughout the grounds.
The event is designed to provide both entertainment and educational opportunities while highlighting the history of Shawano County and the people who helped shape the area.
Rhubarb Fest runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Park in Shawano and is open to visitors of all ages.
