SHAWANO, WI – Sacred Heart Parish celebrated a successful Community Picnic on Sunday as hundreds of people gathered at Franklin Park for a day of food, music, fellowship, and family fun.
The annual event featured several changes this year, including a new location, a new date, and expanded hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Organizers said the response from the community was overwhelmingly positive as families, friends, and neighbors filled the park throughout the day.
Live entertainment was provided by the New Generations Band and Steele River Band, while attendees enjoyed food and beverages from several local vendors, including Bear Creek BBQ, Buzzin’ Ice Cream, Dee’s Nutz, Kona Ice, Red Wagon Concession Truck, Tacoyota, Tom’s Traveling Coffee, and Stubborn Brothers Brewery.
Event organizers credited local sponsors, donors, volunteers, and parish members for helping make the picnic a success. Major sponsors included Engebos Heating & Cooling, Frontline Fence, Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service, and Full Bloom Events.
In addition to live music and food, guests enjoyed raffle prizes, inflatables, balloon animals, and other family-friendly activities throughout the day.

Organizers thanked the many volunteers, staff members, and community supporters who helped coordinate the event and create a welcoming atmosphere for attendees.
With this year’s picnic now in the books, Sacred Heart Parish is already looking ahead to next year’s event. The 2027 Sacred Heart Community Picnic is scheduled for June 13.
