Anthony L. “Tony” Tischauser, age 55, of Athens, Wisconsin, formerly of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 8, 2026. Tony was born July 21, 1970, in Shawano, the son of Carl and the late LaVera (Horn) Tischauser. He attended Shawano High School and graduated with the Class of 1988. Following high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. After college, Tony was employed as a news director at Channel 7 News in Wausau. Throughout his life, he worked in several careers, including sales, and later served as a dispatcher for several trucking companies in the Wausau area. Tony had a lifelong love of baseball and played for the Shawano Lobos for many years. Tony was an avid fantasy league player and was a fan of all sports. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandfather. He was a gifted conversationalist who never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. Most of all, Tony loved his family and always made himself available to support and spend time with those he loved.
Survivors include his three sons, Jesse Mullins of Antigo, Eric (Sierra) Tischauser of Athens, Wisconsin, and Parker (Allison) Tischauser of Athens, Wisconsin; father, Carl Tischauser of Shawano; sister, Tammy (Richard) Edwards of Shawano; and his nephews, Samuel Edwards of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Griffin Edwards of Shawano. Tony is further survived by several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, LaVera Tischauser.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Mickelson Funeral Service on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. In lieu of plants and flowers, the family kindly prefers memorials in Tony’s name to the Shawano Athletic Booster Club.
