Cheryl D. McCafferty, age 67 of Clintonville, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Cheryl Diane McCafferty was born on October 3, 1958, in Sheboygan Falls, WI, the daughter of the late Frederick and Donna (Passmore) Tuttle. Growing up in a large family, Cheryl developed a passion for running early on; she was a standout high school track star, competing in the 400m hurdles and various relays. She worked a 20-year career with the Appleton Post-Crescent delivering their newspapers on her rural route; making life-long connections with folks in the community. Outside of her professional work, Cheryl was an avid reader and writer of mysteries. She was united in marriage to Kenneth R. McCafferty on September 16, 2006, here in Clintonville, with a traditional Celtic ceremony. She retired in 2021, turning her full attention to her true passion: helping others. Cheryl lived her life with an open heart and extraordinary generosity. She was the kind of person who always showed up for people, rarely arriving without a thoughtful gift in hand. Her community impact was quiet but profound; she frequently went grocery shopping when there was a good sale, specifically to donate requested items to the local food pantry. Christmas was Cheryl’s absolute favorite time of year, embodying her belief in giving back. She was an active member of her Christmas card group and used the holiday as a wonderful excuse to shower others with love. Each year, she took great joy in adopting a local family to ensure their Christmas was bright, full of warmth, and memorable. Her presence, her kindness, and her giving spirit will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
