WAUPACA COUNTY, WI – A major highway improvement project is set to begin later this month on U.S. Highway 10 in Waupaca County.
Governor Tony Evers has approved a $2.4 million project to rehabilitate a section of the highway between the Portage County line and Anderson Road in the Town of Farmington.
Construction is scheduled to begin June 16 and will include a variety of roadway improvements aimed at extending the life of the pavement and enhancing safety for motorists. Crews will perform concrete joint repairs and replacements, install new asphalt shoulders, replace guardrails, and apply new pavement markings throughout the project area.
Motorists traveling through the corridor should expect single-lane closures during construction. Traffic will remain open, but drivers are encouraged to plan for possible delays and use caution when traveling through work zones.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation expects the project to be completed by early September, weather permitting.
State officials say the improvements will help maintain the condition of one of the region’s key transportation routes while providing a smoother and safer driving experience for residents, commuters, and commercial traffic using the highway.
