ANIWA, WI- Three people were injured following a home explosion Tuesday evening in the Town of Aniwa.
According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a 911 call reporting the explosion at approximately 6:03 p.m. Deputies responded to the scene along with local fire and EMS personnel.
Investigators believe a possible gas leak may have contributed to the explosion. A 35-year-old man, a 55-year-old woman, and a 61-year-old man were inside the residence at the time of the incident. All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The 35-year-old man was flown to a hospital for treatment, while the other two individuals were transported by ambulance to a separate medical facility.
Assisting agencies included the Birnamwood Fire Department, Birnamwood and Mattoon Ambulance services, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, and Aspirus MedEvac.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information, including the identities of those involved, has been released.
