NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN – The 2026 North Eastern Conference softball season wrapped up with several area athletes earning all-conference recognition, highlighted by strong showings from Freedom, Clintonville and Oconto Falls.
Conference champion Denmark led the way on the postseason honors list, while junior Shaelyn Kraschnewski was named the NEC Player of the Year after helping guide the Vikings to the conference title.
Freedom placed four players on the All-Conference teams, including senior Kourtney Moeller, who earned First Team All-Conference honors as a designated player. Moeller was one of only a handful of unanimous first-team selections in the conference. The Irish also had sophomore Jessa McArtney named Second Team All-Conference in the infield, junior Brooke Sowinski selected to the Second Team outfield, and sophomore Jovie Smith recognized as a Second Team utility player. Senior Addie Murphy added an Honorable Mention selection, giving Freedom five total players recognized by conference coaches.
Oconto Falls was represented by two standout seniors. Amelia Danielczak earned First Team All-Conference honors in the infield after a strong senior campaign for the Panthers. Fellow senior Delaney McNichols was selected Honorable Mention All-Conference, giving Oconto Falls multiple players recognized for their efforts this season.
Clintonville’s Abby Tate earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the outfield following an impressive senior season. The Truckers also landed junior pitcher Claire Papendorf on the Honorable Mention team, recognizing her contributions in the circle throughout the season.
Elsewhere around the conference, Luxemburg-Casco and Denmark each had multiple first-team selections, while Wrightstown, Marinette, Waupaca and Little Chute were also represented throughout the postseason awards.
The all-conference honors cap another competitive season in the North Eastern Conference, with several underclassmen among the honorees expected to return next spring. For Freedom, Clintonville and Oconto Falls, the postseason recognition highlights the impact those programs had across the conference during the 2026 season.
