#5 West De Pere 5, #4 Hortonville 2
Hortonville’s season came to an end in the WIAA Regional Final on Thursday with a 5-2 loss to West De Pere. The Polar Bears collected seven hits in the contest, with Gary Wuest leading the way with two hits and two stolen bases, while Brock Wolter, Brody Kante, Elijah Yeager, Isaac Behnke and Jack Tennie each added a hit. Hortonville scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings but was unable to overcome a five-run stretch by the Phantoms in the middle innings. Behnke, Yeager and Tristan Berrens combined on the mound for the Polar Bears, who finished the season with a strong postseason run and a regional runner-up finish.

#2 Kimberly 8, #7 Pulaski 5
Pulaski saw its season come to an end in the WIAA Regional Final on Thursday with an 8-5 loss to Kimberly. The Red Raiders jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but the Papermakers answered with four runs in the second and pulled away behind four home runs. Eli Heuser led Pulaski offensively with a double and four total bases, while Eddie Van Roy also doubled and Gavin Sikorski added a pair of hits. Pulaski finished with seven hits on the day and added a run in the seventh inning, but Kimberly’s power at the plate proved to be the difference as the Red Raiders closed out another successful season.
