NEW LONDON, WI – A major street reconstruction project is moving forward in New London through a partnership between the City of New London and Outagamie County.
The New London Common Council recently approved a cost-sharing agreement with the Outagamie County Highway Department for improvements to portions of Mill Street and Beacon Avenue.
The project is expected to cost just over $2.3 million. Under the agreement, Outagamie County will contribute approximately $1.43 million toward the work, while the City of New London will be responsible for roughly $895,000.
City officials say the project will involve more than roadway improvements. A significant portion of the work will focus on underground infrastructure, including the replacement and upgrading of water mains, sanitary sewer mains, and service laterals.
Local leaders say the partnership allows the city to complete critical infrastructure improvements while sharing costs with the county. Additional details regarding project timelines and construction schedules are expected to be announced as planning progresses.
The reconstruction of Mill Street and Beacon Avenue is designed to improve the long-term condition of the roadway and utility systems serving the area, helping support future growth and reliability for residents and businesses.
