The WIAA has released their baseball postseason brackets for Divisions 2-4. Division 1 will be finalized later this week.
SEYMOUR THUNDER- 16-6
Seymour’s 2025-26 baseball season has been a journey built on resilience, explosive offense, and clutch conference performances and now the Thunder head into the postseason as the No. 1 seed in their WIAA Division 2 regional bracket.
After opening the year with a perfect 3-0 spring trip in Orlando, Florida, Seymour immediately showed the offensive firepower that would become its identity all season long. The Thunder outscored opponents 24-12 during the trip, including back-to-back wins over Xaverian and Webster Schroeder.
The early portion of the Wisconsin schedule tested Seymour against some of the Fox Valley’s toughest competition. Losses to Kimberly, Hortonville, and Fox Valley Lutheran dropped the Thunder below .500 in mid-April, but the adversity became a turning point for the season.
From there, Seymour responded with one of the strongest stretches in northeastern Wisconsin.
The Thunder ripped off key conference wins over Shawano, Xavier, Menasha, Green Bay East/West, and Winneconne while proving they could win in a variety of ways. Seymour’s offense erupted repeatedly, posting double-digit runs seven different times, including dominant performances in a 15-8 win over Menasha and a 15-3 rout of Green Bay East/West.
But this team wasn’t just about offense.
Seymour also demonstrated the ability to win close games under pressure. The Thunder earned one-run victories over Little Chute (7-6), West De Pere (5-4), Menasha (1-0), Denmark (5-3), and Fox Valley Lutheran (9-8), showing composure late in games and the ability to execute in critical moments.
By the end of the regular season, Seymour had transformed itself into one of the hottest and most balanced teams in Division 2. The Thunder combined timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and improving pitching depth to finish with momentum entering tournament play.
Their body of work earned Seymour the No. 1 seed in the WIAA Division 2 regional, giving the Thunder home-field advantage and a clear path toward a deep postseason run.
Now, with a strong regular season behind them and confidence continuing to grow, Seymour enters the playoffs knowing every goal remains in front of them. The Thunder will begin postseason play on June 2 at home in the regional semifinal against either Fox Valley Lutheran or New London, looking to continue a season that has steadily built toward championship expectations.
