Clintonville Police handled a wide range of calls throughout the day. Officers conducted several business checks during the early morning hours along City Highway I, South Main Street, and East Green Tree Road. Extra patrols were also reported in residential neighborhoods including Memorial Circle and East Morning Glory Drive.
Traffic enforcement remained active during the day, with officers making stops on South Main Street, 7th and Pershing, and Highway 45 near County Highway North. Police also responded to two separate vehicle crashes — one at 5th and South Main Streets just before noon, and another at Modoc Street and West 3rd Street later in the afternoon.
Emergency crews were dispatched to an ambulance call on West Green Tree Road shortly after noon. Officers also handled ordinance violations on 10th Street, lockout calls on West Madison and Motor Streets, and a disabled vehicle complaint on West 13th Street.
Additional calls included a citizen assist on Brix Street, a suspicious activity complaint on South Main Street, and welfare checks on Ginger Spur and 11th Street.
Clintonville Police also maintained an increased patrol presence throughout the evening with extra patrols reported on Memorial Circle.
Shawano County Sheriff’s deputies handled nearly 30 incidents across the county, including crashes, reckless driving complaints, a vehicle fire, and several animal-related calls.
One of the more serious incidents happened just after 9 a.m. near Hofa Park Drive and Highway 29 in Pulaski, where deputies responded after a dump truck reportedly went into the ditch. The crash remains under investigation.
Deputies also investigated multiple reckless driving complaints throughout the day, including reports of excessive speeding and erratic driving near County Highway CC and Wolf Road, Highway 117, and Highway 29 near Exit 234.
In Bonduel, deputies and fire crews responded to a vehicle fire along Highway 29 shortly after 5 p.m. Callers reported heavy smoke coming from the vehicle in the eastbound lanes, with at least one person still inside the car when emergency crews were dispatched.
Authorities also responded to a sex offense investigation in Bonduel, a theft complaint involving an unreturned four-wheeler in the Town of Richmond, and a warrant arrest at the Shawano County Courthouse.
Animal calls kept deputies busy throughout the day as well. Two stray dogs reportedly got inside the fenced playground area at Wittenberg Elementary School while children were outside. Deputies also responded to loose cattle near Bowler, horses in the roadway near Cecil, and several reports of injured or neglected animals.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge-Munsee Police investigated four separate gas drive-off thefts at the Little Store on County Highway A, including one involving a brown Jeep that reportedly left eastbound toward Gresham without paying for fuel.
