Marinette, Freedom, and Little Chute lead the way in a competitive conference showdown
The Northeastern Conference Championship delivered strong performances across the board Friday. Here’s a look at the event winners and top finishers.
MEN’S RESULTS
100/200 Meters — Marinette’s Mason Hofherr swept the sprints, winning the 100 in 11.40 and the 200 in 22.21. Denmark’s Lincoln Arneson was the runner-up in the 200 with a 22.44.
400 Meters — Arneson doubled back to win the 400 in 49.73, edging Luxemburg-Casco’s Brady Kinnard (50.66) and Freedom’s Nixon Heinke (51.54).
800/1600/3200 Meters — Little Chute’s Ben Toeppler swept all three distance events, 2:04.23 in the 800, 4:39.04 in the 1600, and a personal-best 9:55.78 in the 3200. Luxemburg-Casco’s Ezra Treml was runner-up in both the 1600 and 3200.
110m Hurdles — Freedom’s Nolan Phillips won in 14.79, with Little Chute’s Cooper Effa second at 15.50.
300m Hurdles — Effa flipped the script, edging Phillips in the 300m, 39.72 to 41.26.
4×100 Relay — Marinette won in 43.31, with Little Chute (43.73) close behind.
4×200 Relay — Freedom edged Oconto Falls by just 0.16 seconds, 1:31.81 to 1:31.97.
4×400 Relay — A razor-thin finish: Luxemburg-Casco won in 3:29.43, with Denmark right behind at 3:29.49 and Freedom third at 3:30.36.
4×800 Relay — Oconto Falls won a tight race in 9:08.44, edging Clintonville by less than a second.
Shot Put — Little Chute’s Gavin McInnis won at 51’11”, with Freedom’s Kaiden Wagner second at 49’0″.
Discus — Waupaca’s Wyatt Buenning edged Little Chute’s James Thiel in a near photo finish, 157’6″ to 157’1″, both personal bests.
High Jump — Little Chute’s Cooper Effa cleared 6’2″ to win, with teammate Calvin Van Rossum matching the height for second.
Pole Vault — Freedom’s Laine Everson won with a personal-best 13’0″, with Marinette’s Mason Floriano second at 12’9″.
Long Jump — Oconto Falls’ Brady Bursa leaped a personal-best 22’10.25″ to win. Wrightstown’s Alex VanHelvoirt (21’4.5″) and Little Chute’s Kaden Hoffman (21’1.75″) rounded out the top three.
Triple Jump — Wrightstown’s Sam Haven won with a personal-best 44’2.5″, with Bursa (41’7.5″) and Hoffman (41’6″) again placing second and third.
WOMEN’S RESULTS
100/200 Meters — Denmark’s Ella Denor dominated the sprints, winning the 100 in 12.61 and the 200 in 25.93. Marinette’s Bailey Krouth was runner-up in the 100, while Little Chute’s Brooklyn Jakubek took second in the 200.
400 Meters — Wrightstown freshman London Dockum won in 1:00.30, with Denor taking second at 1:00.94 for her third individual top-two finish of the day.
800 Meters — Dockum doubled up, winning the 800 in a personal-best 2:24.02. Freedom’s Katherine Cook (2:25.63) and Little Chute’s Campbell DeBoth (2:27.82) followed.
1600/3200 Meters — Luxemburg-Casco’s Claire DuChateau swept the distance events, winning the 1600 in 5:21.79 and the 3200 in a season-best 11:30.98. Little Chute’s Madisen Job was runner-up in both.
100m Hurdles — Freedom’s Ashley Hietpas edged Little Chute’s Zuzanna Mosienska in the finals, 14.88 to 15.10, after Mosienska had actually posted the faster prelim time.
300m Hurdles — Mosienska got the last laugh, winning the 300m in a personal-best 46.55. Freedom’s Jessa Jochman took second at 50.27.
4×100 Relay — Oconto Falls won in 49.70, with Denmark (50.30) and Freedom (51.00) following.
4×200 Relay — Little Chute edged Oconto Falls, 1:45.56 to 1:47.79.
4×400 Relay — Denmark won in 4:10.63, with Freedom close behind at 4:13.07.
4×800 Relay — Little Chute took the win in 10:23.95, with Luxemburg-Casco second at 10:45.01.
Shot Put/Discus — Little Chute’s America Cackowski swept the throwing events, winning the shot put at 36’1.5″ and the discus with a personal-best 125’10”.
High Jump — Wrightstown’s Katerina Hruska cleared 5’1″ to win, with Freedom’s Kelsey Verhasselt and Oconto Falls’ Calli Bursa tying for second at 5’0″.
Pole Vault — Freedom’s Gabriella Hambel and Little Chute’s Samaya Alcala both cleared a personal-best 10’9″, with Hambel taking first on tiebreaker.
Long Jump — Freedom swept the top three, with Brooke Sowinski (16’9″, personal best), Marisa Greiner (16’3.5″), and Mara Janssen (16’1.5″) going 1-2-3, though Oconto Falls’ Brooke Fenlon snuck into second at 16’5.75″ to break up the sweep.
Triple Jump — Wrightstown’s Katerina Hruska claimed her second individual title, winning at 35’4″ personal best. Luxemburg-Casco’s Ana Wolfert (33’11.5″) and Freedom’s Brooke Sowinski (33’4.5″) rounded out the top three.

Bonduel, Iola-Scandinavia, and Amherst lead a competitive conference meet
The CWC Championship delivered strong individual performances and tight relay races throughout. Here’s a look at the winners and top finishers across the conference.
MEN’S RESULTS
100/200 Meters — It was a sprint showdown at the top, with Iola-Scandinavia’s Aiden Bowen edging Shiocton’s Paxton Kuehn in the 100 (11.11 to 11.15), both season bests. Kuehn returned the favor in a different way in the 200, where Manawa’s Jacob Kravetz won in a personal-best 22.30 with Kuehn right behind at 22.31.
400 Meters — Bonduel’s Mason Ballwahn took the title in a personal-best 50.18, with Kravetz (50.26) and Kuehn (51.11) rounding out a familiar top three.
110m/300m Hurdles — Iola-Scandinavia’s Jensen Rice swept both hurdle events, winning the 110m in a season-best 14.32 and the 300m in a personal-best 39.21. Shiocton’s Wyatt Hess was runner-up in both, finishing 14.89 and 39.24 respectively, one of the tightest rivalries of the day.
4×100 Relay — Weyauwega-Fremont won in 45.18, edging Amherst (45.69) and Bonduel (45.95).
4×200 Relay — Wittenberg-Birnamwood took the title in 1:32.58, with Amherst second at 1:33.60.
4×400 Relay — Another close one: Wittenberg-Birnamwood won in 3:29.62, with Amherst just behind at 3:30.88.
4×800 Relay — Amherst won in 8:51.63, edging Bonduel (9:01.67) and Weyauwega-Fremont (9:05.16).
Shot Put — Bonduel’s Ryan Westrich led the way at 49’2.25″, with Weyauwega-Fremont’s Jared Bohringer second at 44’0.5″.
Discus — Iola-Scandinavia’s Korz Loken won at 149’3″, with Westrich second at 142’9″ and Weyauwega-Fremont’s Broc Billington third at 137’2″.
High Jump — Shiocton’s Hunter Austin and Iola-Scandinavia’s Jensen Rice tied at 6’0″, with Austin taking the title on tiebreaker, Rice’s third individual top-two finish of the day.
Pole Vault — Shiocton freshman Lincoln Volkman cleared a conference-best 12’6″ to win, with Manawa’s Carter Barrington second at 12’0″.
Long Jump — Amherst’s Ayden Nerdahl won with a personal-best 22’5.25″, with Kuehn second at 21’8.5″.
Triple Jump — Weyauwega-Fremont’s Broc Billington won with a season-best 44’1″, with Amherst’s Cal Lusic (41’9″) and Iola-Scandinavia’s Aiden Bowen (41’7.5″) following.
WOMEN’S RESULTS
100/200/400 Meters — Bonduel sophomore Peyton Westrich was the story of the day, sweeping all three sprints. She won the 100 in 12.91, the 200 in a personal-best 26.43, and the 400 in 59.38, a dominant individual performance across the entire program.
800 Meters — Manawa freshman Penelope Ayala won in a personal-best 2:19.41.
3200 Meters — Mariah Wondra got her win in the 3200, crossing in 12:18.29. Iola-Scandinavia’s Revyn Schrank took second at 12:41.40, and Bonduel’s Lillian Burrack was third at 13:22.26.
100m Hurdles — Amherst’s Alexis Wierzba won the finals in a personal-best 16.61, edging Manawa’s Abby Elmhorst (16.72) and Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Harper Krull (16.99).
300m Hurdles — Krull turned the tables to win the 300m in a personal-best 48.74, with Elmhorst (50.82) and Bonduel’s Cierra Schnell (51.31) following.
4×100 Relay — Manawa won in 52.77, with Bonduel (54.46) and Iola-Scandinavia (54.51) taking second and third in an extremely tight finish.
4×200 Relay — Amherst edged Manawa, 1:51.81 to 1:52.23.
4×400 Relay — Manawa won in 4:17.00, with Shiocton third at 4:22.10.
4×800 Relay — Bonduel took second in 10:40.20, just behind the top finisher, with Manawa third at 11:13.45.
Shot Put/Discus — Amherst’s Alexis Wierzba swept the throws, winning the shot put at 36’0.25″ and the discus at 132’10”, a remarkable double. Weyauwega-Fremont’s Macy Fee was runner-up in both events.
High Jump — Amherst freshman Elise Christianson cleared a personal-best 5’2″ to win.
Pole Vault — Shiocton’s Abby Young cleared a personal-best 9’0″ to win, with Manawa’s Addie Hansen matching the height for second.
Long Jump — Bonduel’s Josie Pawlak won at 17’1″, with Manawa’s Melina Hillers (16’5″) and Weyauwega-Fremont’s Chamille Birdyshaw (16’2.5″) rounding out the top three.
Triple Jump — Pawlak doubled up, winning at 35’11.75″. Teammate Peyton Westrich took second at 34’7″, adding yet another top finish to her already exceptional day.

Winneconne, Xavier, and Fox Valley Lutheran shine in a star-studded conference showdown
The Bay Conference Championship Track and Field Meet delivered no shortage of memorable performances Friday, with athletes from across the conference stepping up in both the sprints and field events. Here’s a look at how each event played out.
MEN’S RESULTS
100 Meters — Winneconne senior Brody Schaffer set a personal best to claim the title, crossing in 10.80. Fox Valley Lutheran’s Kaleb Williams (11.01) and Menasha’s Keonte Thigpen (11.14) rounded out the podium.
200 Meters — Williams got his revenge in the 200, edging Schaffer at the line with a winning time of 22.06 to Schaffer’s 22.10. Winneconne’s Koltyn Kachur took third in 22.44.
400 Meters — Williams completed a sprint double-double of sorts, winning the 400 in a personal-best 49.60. Seymour’s Brendon Riehl ran 51.14 for second, and Winneconne’s Luke Fuller took third with a personal-best 52.23.
800 Meters — Fox Valley Lutheran’s Zachary Muenster took the title in 2:02.75, followed closely by Winneconne’s Silas Sarbo (2:04.06) and New London’s Kaden Bethke (2:05.68).
1600 Meters — Winneconne’s Grant Wenzelow won in a season-best 4:26.16. Seymour’s Logan Boehnlein (4:33.67) and Muenster (4:34.60) took second and third.
3200 Meters — New London’s Braden Clarke crossed first in 10:21.47, with Boehnlein right behind at 10:23.72. Xavier’s Jordan Rosenbaum rounded out the top three at 10:41.18.
110m Hurdles — Fox Valley Lutheran swept the top three, with Grant Wolfrath winning in 15.17, Jacoby Dobberstein second at 15.50, and JJ Minzlaff fourth at 16.44. Winneconne’s Koltyn Kachur took third in 16.04.
300m Hurdles — Another Fox Valley Lutheran sweep at the top, with Dobberstein edging Wolfrath 40.75 to 40.88. Kachur again took third, clocking 40.99.
4×100 Relay — Winneconne’s quartet of Mason Mathe, Brody Cross, Karter Hawthorne, and Brody Schaffer won in 43.14, narrowly ahead of Menasha (43.53) and Green Bay West (43.81).
4×200 Relay — Shawano Community claimed the title in 1:31.36, edging Menasha (1:32.65) and Fox Valley Lutheran (1:32.74) in one of the tightest finishes of the day.
4×400 Relay — Menasha’s team of Keonte Thigpen, Jackson Rubbert, Isaac Foster, and Maitland Bricco won in 3:31.41. Winneconne (3:32.64) and New London (3:32.68) finished second and third in an incredibly tight race, just over a second separating all three.
4×800 Relay — New London ran away with this one, posting 8:29.26 to hold off Fox Valley Lutheran (8:43.45) and Shawano Community (8:52.70).
Shot Put — Winneconne’s Hudson Samolinski dominated the throwing events, heaving the shot put 55 feet even for first place. New London’s Howard Roloff (48’0″) and Menasha’s Kolin Liegl (47’9.25″) took second and third.
Discus — Samolinski again, this time with a throw of 183’6″, a standout performance that left the field well behind. New London’s Preston Krueger (158’5″, personal best) and Shawano Community’s Drew Chelberg (156’2″, personal best) rounded out the top three.
High Jump — Winneconne’s Colton Tisler cleared 6’4″ to win convincingly. Three athletes tied for second at 5’10”, Gregory Salzman (Seymour), Luca Boyle (Winneconne), and Fox Valley Lutheran’s Blessings Kapande.
Pole Vault — Winneconne’s Trey Zemke cleared 14’6″ to take the title. Teammate Silas Sarbo was second at 12’6″, followed by Fox Valley Lutheran’s Seth Wittig at 12’0″.
Long Jump — Schaffer added yet another title to his day, leaping 22’5.5″ to win. Fox Valley Lutheran’s Tyler Dequaine (21’5.75″) and Blessings Kapande (21’5.25″) followed.
Triple Jump — Xavier’s Wyatt Rouamba took the win with a personal-best 44’5.75″. Fox Valley Lutheran’s Dobberstein (42’5.5″) and Menasha’s Marquell Brown (42’3.5″) finished second and third.
WOMEN’S RESULTS
100 Meters — In a mild upset, Xavier freshman Kayla Fournillier claimed the title in 12.58, edging Fox Valley Lutheran’s Mya Burleton (12.66) and Seymour’s Maya Vande Kolk (12.69).
200 Meters — Vande Kolk bounced back to win the 200 in 26.41. Xavier’s Lauren Erickson (26.59) and Menasha’s Isabella Stephani (27.00) finished second and third.
400 Meters — Xavier swept the top two spots, with Erickson winning in a personal-best 59.73 and Grace Hackl close behind at 59.85. Teammate Lily Renz took third in 1:00.52.
800 Meters — Winneconne’s Ruby Kuehn took the win in 2:28.52. Fox Valley Lutheran’s Claire Fischer (2:33.18) and Winneconne’s Natalie Anderson (2:39.37) rounded out the top three.
1600 Meters — Kuehn doubled up, winning in 5:39.45. Shawano Community’s Bailey Hendricks (5:44.28) and Winneconne’s Quinn LeRoy (5:46.01) followed.
3200 Meters — Winneconne’s Quinn LeRoy, a freshman, claimed the title in 12:38.09. New London’s Shaye Allen (13:06.58) and Sarah Daly (13:16.74, personal best) finished second and third.
100m Hurdles — Green Bay East’s Lakeria Gonnigan topped Xavier’s Hailey Hafner in a tight battle, 14.91 to 15.05. Green Bay West’s Mikiah Rogina took third in 16.23.
300m Hurdles — Gonnigan swept the hurdles, winning the 300m in 48.47. Fox Valley Lutheran’s Grace Dedering (50.29) and Xavier’s Addison Hafner (50.72, personal best) were second and third.
4×100 Relay — Xavier’s team of Hailey Hafner, Bryce Hietpas, Cecilia Higgins, and Kayla Fournillier won in 50.43. Menasha (51.03) and Green Bay West (51.79) finished second and third.
4×200 Relay — Fox Valley Lutheran edged Menasha for the title, 1:46.61 to 1:47.24. Xavier took third in 1:47.58.
4×400 Relay — Xavier’s team of Lauren Erickson, Bernice Geurts, Grace Hackl, and Lily Renz won convincingly in 4:06.49. Fox Valley Lutheran (4:14.50) and Winneconne (4:20.82) followed.
4×800 Relay — Shawano Community won in 10:24.63, with Winneconne (10:34.00) and Fox Valley Lutheran (10:45.01) taking second and third.
Shot Put — New London’s Ayden Smith won with a throw of 41’11.75″. Fox Valley Lutheran’s Isabelle Sievert (35’4.5″) and Winneconne’s Kendal Vette (34’0″) placed second and third.
Discus — Smith swept the throwing events, winning the discus with a throw of 139’6″. Winneconne’s Kendal Vette (105’7″, personal best) and Fox Valley Lutheran’s Braelynn Smith (100’4″) rounded out the top three.
High Jump — Fox Valley Lutheran freshman Maci Healy cleared a personal-best 5’4″ to win. Four athletes tied at 5’2″, Mikiah Rogina, Anna Maass, Kayla Fournillier, and Kennedi VanDen Heuvel.
Pole Vault — Xavier’s Caroline Basehoar cleared 12’0″ to win. Green Bay West’s Adriana Moyano (11’6″) and Winneconne’s Bailey Church (9’9″) took second and third.
Long Jump — Green Bay West’s Adriana Moyano won with a season-best jump of 17’2.5″. Fox Valley Lutheran’s Braelyn Barber (16’8.5″, personal best) and Xavier’s Hailey Hafner (16’8″) followed.
Triple Jump — Moyano made it a long jump/triple jump double, winning with a season-best 36’10”. Xavier’s Brooke Vande Hey (35’0.5″, personal best) and Winneconne’s Madie Larson (33’2.75″) finished second and third.
BOYS TEAM RESULTS:
