#17 Crivitz 6, Saint Thomas Aquinas 0
The Crivitz Wolverines wasted no time making up for lost time, shutting out the Saint Thomas Aquinas Cavaliers 6-0 Wednesday in a game postponed from Tuesday.
Crivitz jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, scoring in four of seven innings while holding Aquinas scoreless throughout. The Wolverines tallied six runs on seven hits, drawing four walks and swiping four bases to keep constant pressure on the Cavaliers.
Senior Stephen Allard was the standout performer for Crivitz, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs and tossing three shutout innings with five strikeouts from the mound. Fellow senior Jackson Schramm handled the final four innings, striking out eight and allowing just one hit combined to finish off the complete-game shutout effort.
Crivitz pitchers held Saint Thomas Aquinas to a .043 opponent batting average on the day, walking four while striking out 13 across seven innings.
The win improves Crivitz to 17-1 on the season, extending one of the area’s hottest streaks with nine straight wins. The Wolverines also lead the all-time series against Aquinas 3-0. Saint Thomas Aquinas falls to 3-10.
