NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Highway maintenance work is ramping up across Northeast Wisconsin, with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation warning drivers about several projects expected to affect traffic in both Oconto and Outagamie Counties over the coming days.
Outagamie County
In Outagamie County, maintenance crews will be sweeping along WIS 15 between Lily of the Valley Road and I-41 through Friday. WisDOT says moving lane closures will be in place during the work, which is scheduled to take place between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. each day.
Additional maintenance is also planned along WIS 125 between I-41 and Linwood Avenue. Crews will be upgrading traffic signals through Thursday, with intermittent lane closures expected during both morning and nighttime work hours.
Oconto County
In Oconto County, drivers should prepare for a longer-term pavement repair project on southbound US 41 between McDonald Street and Frog Pond Road. The work is scheduled to begin Wednesday morning and continue through May 19, with a continuous lane closure remaining in place during the project.
Motorists will also encounter a full closure on WIS 22 at Klaus Lake Road through Thursday afternoon as crews complete additional pavement repairs. Posted detours will direct southbound WIS 22 traffic to northbound WIS 32, County H, and County R, while northbound traffic will be rerouted using County R, County H, and WIS 32.
WisDOT reminds drivers that all maintenance operations are weather dependent and encourages motorists to slow down, stay alert in work zones, and allow extra travel time when heading through affected areas.
