NEW LONDON, WI- An outpouring of support continues to grow for flood recovery efforts in New London, with organizers announcing the community fund has now surpassed $230,000.
The New London Flood Relief Fund received a major boost from a $50,000 donation by Fox Communities Credit Union, along with continued contributions from local residents, businesses, and organizations.
Leaders with the New London Area Chamber of Commerce say every dollar raised will go directly back to affected families and businesses, with no administrative fees taken from the fund.
NEW LONDON FLOOD ADVISORY COMMITTEE FORMED
New London flood relief focus is now shifting to the next phase of recovery. A trusted advisory committee is being finalized to help guide the distribution process, while additional and matching funding opportunities are being pursued to further expand the fund’s impact. A survey of those affected is also expected soon to better understand both immediate and long-term needs.
Officials acknowledge many residents are facing urgent challenges, but say the distribution process is being handled carefully to ensure the funds are used fairly and make the greatest long-term impact for the community.
