Little Chute 8, Antigo 2
After falling behind early, Little Chute rallied for an 8-2 nonconference baseball win over Antigo on Saturday at Kretz Field. The Mustangs trailed 2-0 after the first inning but responded with runs in four different innings, including a three-run seventh to pull away.
Little Chute collected 12 hits in the victory, led by junior Gerrit Wittman, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. The Mustangs scored twice in the third inning to take the lead for good and added insurance runs in the fifth and seventh.
Antigo managed four hits in the game, with senior Caleb Vandenlangenberg driving in a run. The Red Robins were unable to score after the opening inning as Little Chute’s pitching staff combined to limit Antigo to a .179 batting average. The loss dropped Antigo to 2-11 on the season, while Little Chute improved to 11-4.
