Nancy Leigh Bahr, 84, of Cecil, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at her home. She was born May 7, 1941, in the Town of Morgan to the late Oren and Helen (McEwing) Gilbertson and graduated from Gillett High School. Nancy spent many years working at Maple Lane Health Care before retiring at age 65. She was married to Maynard Bahr, who preceded her in death in 2002, and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Nancy enjoyed gardening, caring for her cats, and listening to classic country artists including Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Tanya Tucker, George Jones, and Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her children, Shelly Zernicke, Brian (Cindy) Sohr, and Holly (Michael) Knapp; grandchildren, Stacey Zernicke, Charlotte (Jeremy) Knors, Talor (Tony Tucker) Sohr, Elizabeth (Ben) Koepsell, and Alex (Hevana Standke) Zimmerman; and great-grandchildren, Leighannah, Waylon, Jordan, Blake, Stella, and Axel. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard Bahr; former husband, Maynard Sohr; and siblings, Emerald (Pearl) Gilbertson, Delores (Vernon) Christensen, Loyal (June) Gilbertson, and Mavis (Gordon) McMahon.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Green Valley, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Swedberg Funeral Home of Shawano is assisting Nancy’s family with the arrangements.
