Shawano Police responded to a wide range of calls, including disturbances, shoplifting complaints and emergency incidents across the city.
Early in the morning, officers were dispatched to an apartment on East Randall Street for a domestic disturbance involving adults arguing while a three-year-old child was reportedly still awake and present during the incident. Later, police checked on an intoxicated woman seen crying and wandering near West Fourth and North Franklin Streets.
Throughout the day, officers investigated several disturbances, including complaints at Shawano High School and Olga Brener Elementary School. Police also responded to a commercial burglary alarm at a vape shop on East Green Bay Street.
Retail theft kept officers busy Wednesday afternoon. Multiple shoplifting complaints were reported at Charlie’s County Market. Another theft complaint came from Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street, where a suspect was accused of stealing alcoholic beverages before leaving on foot.
Other calls included a rear-end crash near Main Street and Alpine Drive, complaints about loud noise at Sturgeon Park, a reckless driving report near Main and Lieg Avenue, and a group of juveniles riding a minibike through Arlington Park.
Police also assisted with medical calls, animal complaints and a death investigation Wednesday evening. Authorities say several cases remain active.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls, including mental health concerns, domestic incidents and emergency responses. Officers conducted several overnight business checks on 15th Street, Industrial Avenue, Industrial Court and 7th Street as part of routine patrol activity.
Police responded to mental health-related calls shortly after two o’clock a.m. on 6th Street and again around six a.m. on Spring Street. Officers also provided extra patrol on Anne Street early in the morning.
Just before eight o’clock, emergency crews were dispatched to a fire call on West Green Tree Road. Later in the day, police investigated a tobacco-related complaint in the same area.
Additional calls included a welfare check on 20th Street, a lost-and-found report near East Madison and South Lyons Streets, and a disabled vehicle at Industrial Avenue and 16th Street.
Police and emergency responders also handled multiple 911 calls on South Main Street and 10th Street, along with domestic disturbance complaints on East 12th Street and South Main Street Tuesday evening.
The day ended with an ambulance call on Wilson Street just after 11 p.m.
Shawano County authorities handled a busy mix of traffic complaints, welfare checks and public safety calls across the county.
One of the first incidents of the day came just before six o’clock in the morning along Highway 29 near Meadow Lark Road westbound. A caller reported a dangerous traffic hazard in a construction zone after encountering a vehicle coming head-on where barrels may have been missing. Marathon County officials were contacted to inspect the area near the county line.
Around seven-fifteen, a woman turned herself in at the Shawano County Jail on outstanding warrants and was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies also responded to several reckless driving complaints throughout the day, including reports near County Road R, Cecil Street in Bonduel, and Birch Drive near Pulaski.
Just before eight o’clock, highway workers near Tigerton found a wallet containing cash along County Highway M near Germania Town Hall. Authorities say the wallet belonged to a Markesan resident and efforts were underway to return the property.
A welfare check in the town of Navarino involved concerns for an elderly man struggling to manage medications after his wife reportedly left the home following a dispute. Social workers were assisting in the situation.
Other calls included a stranded motorist with a flat tire and locked vehicle near County Road D, a report of semis hauling manure driving through a business canopy area near Highway 45 in Birnamwood, and a complaint involving a vehicle passing a stopped school bus with its warning lights activated in Shawano.
Evening hours also brought a traffic crash involving an animal near Industrial Drive in Mattoon and a late-night 911 call from the Ho-Chunk Casino area.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge-Munsee Police investigated reports of smoke from a possible rekindled fire near Juniper Road and County VV, along with a strange littering complaint in Bowler after a bucket of dead fish was reportedly dumped near a mailbox.
