SHAWANO COUNTY, WI – A Shawano County educator is receiving statewide recognition for her impact on youth development programs. Megan Suehring was honored at the Wisconsin Joint Council of Extension Professionals Conference, earning both the Distinguished Service Award and the Colleague of the Year Award.
Officials say the awards highlight Suehring’s leadership in developing high-quality 4-H programming and her ongoing commitment to positive youth development across Wisconsin. Her work in Shawano County has focused on expanding access to programs, strengthening community partnerships, and supporting youth through innovative mental health and camp initiatives.
Suehring has served as the county’s 4-H positive youth development educator with UW-Extension Shawano County for the past eight years. During that time, colleagues say her leadership and collaborative approach have helped shape impactful programs that benefit both youth and families.
The recognition places Suehring among top extension professionals in the state, honoring her continued efforts to build resilient youth and stronger communities.
