The Shawano Police Department responded to a wide range of calls throughout the day on May 5th, keeping officers busy across the city.
Early in the morning, officers conducted a traffic stop near Eberlein Park Drive and Green Bay Street. Later, police were called to Sturgeon Park for a noise complaint, one of several reported throughout the day in that area.
Authorities handled multiple welfare checks, including one on South Main Street where a man was reported passed out near the Mountain Bay Trailhead. Another call on Main and Oshkosh involved a similar situation, with emergency responders assisting.
Police also investigated a shoplifting incident at Family Dollar on South Main Street, where a woman reportedly left the store with a cart full of unpaid merchandise.
Other calls included a trespassing complaint involving illegal dumping, several juvenile-related incidents, including one where kids were reported throwing stones at a truck—and a harassment complaint at a local hotel.
Officers also responded to multiple 911 hang-up calls, assisted with medical emergencies, and helped with a vehicle lockout.
The Clintonville Police Department responded to a steady flow of calls on May 5th, with activity ranging from patrols to emergency incidents across the city.
Officers conducted numerous early morning business checks along Commercial Avenue, Memorial Circle, and multiple locations on East 12th Street and Main Street, along with extra patrols at Pigeon Lake Wayside and Anne Street.
Police were called to a citizen dispute on South Main Street just before 7 a.m. and later assisted another agency near North Grand Avenue and Korth Road. School safety remained a priority, with extra patrol reported on 20th Street.
Throughout the day, officers handled a variety of incidents including a 911 call on North Main Street, reports of property damage on Park Lane and East 12th Street, and multiple fraud complaints on Flora Way and South Main Street.
A theft was reported on South Main Street early in the afternoon. Police also conducted several traffic stops at key intersections, including Green Tree Road and Main Street, as well as along East 12th Street.
The day ended with additional traffic enforcement and an ambulance call on Garfield Avenue late Tuesday night.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 35 incidents across the county on May 5th, with a mix of traffic enforcement, emergencies, and public safety calls.
The day began just after midnight with an OWI arrest at the True North gas station on East Grand Avenue in Shawano, where deputies stopped a minivan reportedly operating without plates.
Throughout the morning, deputies handled a burglary alarm at a business on East Grand Avenue, along with reports of reckless driving, including one incident where a pickup truck passed vehicles in a no-passing zone on Highway 22.
Several traffic-related issues kept deputies busy, including disabled vehicles on Highways 29, 22, and 55, and a traffic hazard reported west of Howard. A two-vehicle crash was also reported at Highway 160 and Highway 29 near Pulaski.
In Wittenberg, authorities investigated a theft at the elementary and middle school, while also responding to a juvenile incident involving a missing youth from a residential facility.
Public safety responses included courthouse security details throughout the day, as well as a report of a man carrying a machete inside a Shawano building, which led to a field contact with that individual.
Deputies also responded to a grass fire on Town Line Road, with flames covering an estimated 20-by-50-foot area near nearby buildings.
Other incidents included trespassing complaints in the Town of Tigerton, suspicious vehicle reports, a disorderly conduct call in Birnamwood, and multiple additional reckless driving complaints throughout the county.
The day ended with a warrant arrest near Lake Drive and Highway 47-55, and a vehicle-versus-animal crash later that evening.
Meanwhile, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department handled three calls, including a 911 hang-up at Gresham School, a fire assist, and a disabled vehicle
