SHAWANO, WI – Ongoing referendum construction projects at Shawano High School will bring temporary changes for students and families this summer, including a relocation of school operations.
Associate Principal Deanna Arrowood says the high school office will move to Shawano Middle School as construction continues across campus. During the transition, the high school office will be closed entirely the week of May 26. After that, office operations will resume at the middle school, with hours set for Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
While much of the campus remains under construction, Arrowood says one key facility is nearly ready. “Our weight room will be ready for our summer training program at the high school,” she said, noting it will be one of the few spaces available for use in the short term.
Crews continue to make progress on several other major projects, including classroom upgrades, improvements to fine arts spaces, and work on outdoor athletic facilities. Arrowood says the track and football field are both on schedule to be completed in time for fall sports.
Despite the temporary disruptions, district officials say the work represents long-term improvements that will benefit students and the broader Shawano community for years to come.
