Law Enforcement Activity for Wednesday April 29
CLINTONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Clintonville Police handled 21 calls for service throughout the day Wednesday, including business checks, theft, disorderly conduct and multiple 911 calls.
Officers began the overnight hours with a series of business checks across the city, including patrols along Commercial Avenue, Industrial Avenue, East Green Tree Road and multiple checks along North Main Street. Extra patrol was also conducted at the Pigeon Lake Boat Launch at Pickerel Point.
Shortly after 4 a.m., officers assisted with a vehicle lockout on West Street.
Morning activity continued with extra patrol on Anne Street and another business check on South Main Street.
Just before 8:40 a.m., officers responded to a theft complaint on West Madison Street, followed minutes later by a disorderly conduct call on West Green Tree Road.
Late morning included a temporary restraining order violation reported on West Morning Glory Drive.
During the afternoon, officers handled a 911 call on West Green Tree Road.
Evening activity included another 911 call on East Madison Street.
Late-night enforcement resulted in three traffic stops, including:
- North Main Street at West Green Tree Road
- South Main Street at East 2nd Street
- 16th Street at Industrial Avenue
Officers also conducted another extra patrol at the Pigeon Lake Boat Launch before the end of the night.
SHAWANO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 24 incidents across the county Wednesday, ranging from crashes and theft to welfare checks and harassment complaints.
Deputies started the day just after midnight with a vehicle versus deer crash on Highway 29 near Banner Road in the Town of Wittenberg. No major injuries were reported.
Shortly before 2 a.m., deputies responded to a stray animal call in the Town of Shawano after a caller reported a loose cow in the roadway.
A burglar alarm at Krakow Citgo on Highway 32 was investigated early in the morning. Deputies later confirmed the scene was secure.
Morning calls also included a vehicle lockout on Long Lake Drive in the Town of Clintonville and a disabled vehicle near the Highway 29 mile marker 225 exit.
Just after 9 a.m., deputies began investigating a shoplifting complaint at Kwik Trip on West Express Way in Bonduel, which remains active.
Late morning included a warrant pickup involving the Waukesha County Jail and a theft investigation in Mattoon, where more than $2,000 in cash was reported stolen from Julie’s Mattoon Saloon and Diner.
Deputies also responded to reckless driving on Highway 47/55 near Lake Drive, where a vehicle was reported swerving and traveling around 70 miles per hour.
During the afternoon, deputies handled a traffic hazard on Highway 29 near Cecil Street in Bonduel involving a tire in the roadway and a 911 medical call involving a possible heart issue in Hobart.
Additional afternoon activity included a warrant pickup from the Menominee Tribal Jail and a standby request at Bowler High School due to concerns about potential retaliation involving employees leaving work.
In the evening hours, deputies responded to a juvenile problem call, a suspicious activity report in the Town of Belle Plaine, and a welfare check involving a young child reportedly in a bar, which was ultimately unfounded.
Deputies also handled a disturbance involving a guest refusing to leave a business, an open-line 911 call, and a harassment complaint involving threatening text messages.
Late Wednesday night, deputies conducted a welfare check involving a suicidal individual, and responded to a disabled vehicle with a flat tire on Highway 45 near County Road ZZ.
SHAWANO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Shawano Police handled a wide range of calls Wednesday, including drug complaints, arrests, disturbances, and scam reports.
Officers began the early morning investigating a drug complaint near Andrews Street and Center Street after a report of suspected drug activity and heavy traffic at a residence.
Around 8 a.m., officers responded to Walgreens on East Green Bay Street for a bail jumping investigation involving an employee suspected of drinking while on probation and prohibited from alcohol use.
Police were also called to Sacred Heart Catholic Church after a report of a suspicious person inside the building. Officers were later advised law enforcement assistance was no longer needed.
Late morning included a pickup request from Probation and Parole, where officers arrested a subject who was reportedly acting aggressively.
Just after noon, officers arrested a subject on a warrant at Burger King on East Green Bay Street.
Police then responded to a domestic disturbance on Richmond Street, where officers were called to keep the peace during a property pickup.
During the afternoon, officers took reports connected to an assault and sex offense investigation tied to an earlier incident after a complaint was filed with Shawano Ambulance.
Another disturbance was reported later in the day on South Washington Street, followed by a reckless driving complaint on South Smalley Street involving a truck reportedly racing in the area.
Officers also assisted ambulance crews on two separate medical calls.
In the evening, police took a fraud report involving an online puppy scam, where a resident reported losing money and receiving threats after sending payment online.
The day ended with officers responding to an animal noise complaint near Lincoln and Maurer Streets about barking dogs.
