HORTONVILLE BASEBALL SPOTLIGHT IS SPONSORED BY PIPING SYSTEMS AND R&B ROOFING

Hortonville enters the 2026 season looking to build off a strong 2025 campaign that saw the Polar Bears finish 22-8 overall and reach the WIAA Division 1 State Quarterfinals. Competing in the always-tough Fox Valley Association, Hortonville posted a 13-5 conference record, finishing near the top of the standings behind powerhouse programs like Kimberly. While the Polar Bears will need to replace several key seniors from last year’s roster, including multiple all-conference selections, there is still a solid core returning that should keep them competitive.
Their ability to get on base and set the tone at the top of the lineup will be critical as Hortonville looks to reload its offense. Run production was balanced a year ago, and that approach will likely continue as the Polar Bears work to replace departed bats.
While the team loses experience from last season’s staff, developing depth on the mound will be a major focus early in the year. Limiting runs was a strength in 2025, as Hortonville allowed just 53 runs in conference play, and maintaining that defensive consistency will be important moving forward.
Defensively, Hortonville has shown the ability to play clean baseball, and that will again be a point of emphasis under head coach Greg Yeager. With a mix of returning contributors and new players stepping into larger roles, early-season chemistry will be key as the Polar Bears navigate a challenging schedule.
Overall, Hortonville enters the new season as a team in transition but still one with plenty of upside. If their returning talent can lead the way and younger players quickly adapt, the Polar Bears have the potential to remain a factor in the Fox Valley Association and make another push toward the postseason.
