CLINTONVILLE, WI – Public Works Director Justin McAuly says several seasonal positions are now open, all of which play a key role in supporting city operations during the warmer months. “We’re hiring summer laborers, one for the Parks Division and one for the Street Division,” McAuley said. “We can also always use more gymnastics instructors and soccer referees.”
McAuly encourages anyone interested to apply either in person at City Hall or online through the City of Clintonville Parks and Recreation website. He says filling these roles is essential as the city gears up for an active summer schedule.
In addition to staffing up, Clintonville crews are preparing to tackle several large-scale projects across the community. One of the most noticeable efforts will involve tree removal at two of the city’s major parks.
“If you’re out and about and you notice a lot of trees coming down this year, we’ve had a lot of ash trees that died off in the last couple years,” McAuly said. “We have roughly 140 to 150 trees that are going to be removed out of Walter A. Olen Park and Buchholz Park.”
The tree removal work is expected to continue into the fall as crews address the long-term impact of ash tree loss in the area. Officials say the effort is necessary to maintain safety and prepare the parks for future improvements.
Beyond tree work, additional upgrades are planned throughout the city, including improvements at Olen Park and renovations at the Clintonville Community Center.
City officials say the combination of hiring seasonal help and completing key projects will help ensure Clintonville is ready for a safe, productive, and enjoyable summer season.
