SHAWANO COUNTY, WI – Leadership will remain unchanged in Shawano County after Tuesday’s County Board reorganization meeting, as Chairman Tom Kautza secured another term at the helm.
Before the vote, Kautza addressed fellow supervisors, outlining his approach moving forward and emphasizing the importance of maintaining independence within the board. He noted that outside influence is not needed, stressing that decisions should be made internally by those elected to serve.
When votes were tallied, Kautza earned 14 votes, holding off challenges from Supervisors Joe Miller and Tess Serrano to retain the chairman position. Following the vote, Kautza thanked board members for their support and quickly shifted focus to the work ahead, saying it’s time to move forward and get back to business.
The board’s leadership structure will remain consistent, as Vice Chair Randy Young also retained his position. With both roles unchanged, county officials will continue under the same leadership heading into the next term.
