SHIOCTON, WI- Residents of Shiocton began returning home Thursday after more than a week of evacuation caused by historic flooding along the Wolf River, which reached record levels following severe storms. Many homes sustained flood damage, but officials say community support and volunteer efforts have been strong as recovery begins. A major cleanup effort is planned for Saturday, with residents asked to coordinate needs through the village ahead of time. Recovery resources are available at a Multi-Agency Resource Center in Black Creek, while the School District of Shiocton works to assess damage and plan a safe return to classes.
