MARION BASEBALL SPOTLIGHT IS SPONSORED BY CUSTOM FAB AND BODY
Leading the way for Marion will be a strong sophomore core, highlighted by Braylon Mielke and Sawyer Kamba, both of whom earned recognition as key contributors a season ago. Mielke’s versatility behind the plate and on the mound gives Marion flexibility, while Kamba’s ability to pitch and play multiple infield positions makes him a centerpiece for both the offense and defense. Another young player to watch is Hudson Stitchman, who brings added depth with the ability to contribute at multiple positions.
With a roster leaning heavily on underclassmen, development will be critical for Marion’s success. The Mustangs will look to improve consistency at the plate and find reliable pitching options after a season where run production and run prevention were both challenges. If the younger core can continue to grow and gain experience early in the season, Marion could become a more balanced team as the year progresses.
Competing in a conference that includes teams like Tigerton and Gresham will present challenges, but it also provides opportunities to measure improvement.
