Offensively, the Bulldogs return a strong core led by Ellie Winkelman proving to be one of the team’s most valuable players, hitting .417 while contributing in the circle with a team-high seven wins. Winkelman was also named First Team All-Bay as a utility player, highlighting her impact on both sides of the game.
New London’s lineup featured several other All-Conference contributors, including Bristol Elsholtz as well as multiple Honorable Mention selections such as Aubree Schmude and Chesney Magolski. That depth will be key as the Bulldogs look to take the next step in a competitive Bay Conference that includes perennial contenders like Menasha and Seymour.
In the circle, New London posted a team ERA of 4.63, with Winkelman leading the pitching staff. Continued development in the pitching rotation will be a major factor in the team’s success, especially in close games like last year’s regional loss to Medford, where the Bulldogs dropped a tight 4-3 decision.
With a mix of experienced leaders and developing underclassmen, New London enters the new season with optimism. If the Bulldogs can tighten up defensively and find more consistency in the pitching staff, they have the pieces in place to contend for a higher finish in the Bay Conference and make a deeper postseason push.
