MARATHON COUNTY, WI- The strongest damage from Friday’s severe weather outbreak in Wisconsin was reported in Marathon County, where an EF-3 tornado with winds up to 145 mph struck areas near Kronenwetter, Weston, Ringle, and Easton. The tornado was on the ground for about 17 minutes, traveling 13.5 miles and causing significant damage to homes, trees, and power lines. Elsewhere, an EF-1 tornado was confirmed northwest of Glandon, starting in Marathon County before moving into Lincoln County. Additional EF-3 and EF-1 tornadoes were also confirmed in Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth counties. In total, 14 tornadoes have been confirmed so far from the April 17 outbreak, with damage surveys still ongoing.
