SHAWANO, WI- Officials in Shawano say water levels at the Balsam Row Road Dam have dropped significantly over the past 24 hours, marking a noticeable improvement following recent flooding concerns.
Two photos taken from the same location, one from Wednesday and one from Thursday, show a clear reduction in water levels, with calmer conditions and less pressure on the structure compared to earlier in the week.
The improvement comes as runoff across the region continues to move through the system along the Wolf River, where officials have been closely monitoring flows after periods of heavy rainfall.
Authorities say they are feeling much more comfortable with where things currently stand and are optimistic that levels will continue trending downward if dry conditions hold.
Even with the positive update, officials emphasize that monitoring will continue at the dam and throughout surrounding waterways, with additional updates expected if conditions change.
