NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Two area buildings are receiving a boost thanks to recent grants from the AbbyBank Foundation, aimed at improving both education and childcare opportunities in the region.
Wolf River Lutheran High School has been awarded a $2,000 grant to enhance its classroom and lunchroom spaces. The funding will be used to purchase standing desks, stools, and new lunchroom tables, giving students more flexibility in how they learn and interact throughout the school day. School officials say the additions will support a variety of learning styles while also encouraging movement and collaboration among students.
“We’re proud to support Wolf River Lutheran High School as they make thoughtful updates to enhance student learning and social engagement,” said Rebecca Kuczer, Shawano Branch Manager at AbbyBank. “These improvements give students the tools to learn in ways that suit them best while also creating spaces that encourage connection and collaboration.”
In Marion, a $2,500 grant has been awarded to Marion Day Care, Inc. to support the construction of a new building aimed at expanding capacity. With childcare demand continuing to rise, the expansion will allow the center to serve more families from Marion, Tigerton, Clintonville, Caroline, Shawano, and surrounding communities.

Kuczer says the investment will have a ripple effect beyond childcare. “Expanding the center means more children have a safe, nurturing place to learn and grow, and more families can pursue opportunities that strengthen our communities,” she said.
The AbbyBank Foundation, established in 1986, has contributed more than $1.9 million to support charitable efforts and has distributed nearly $1.5 million to organizations across central and northeastern Wisconsin.
